TOEFL Prep Course
Overview
In this 8-week long course, students move through self-paced modules that cover all four sections of the TOEFL: Reading, Listening, Speaking, and Writing.
There are no set class times or days of the week. You can work on the material on the days and times that work best for you. Students have the opportunity to set up virtual office hours and meet with the instructor for individual help and feedback.
The course requires 10 hours per week of study time. All materials will be provided by your instructor.
At the completion of the course, students will have a clear understanding of the TOEFL test content and format.
Pre-requisites
ELI General English Level 5 or higher, ELI Intensive English Program Level 4 or higher, or an intermediate score on ELI’s placement exam.

Fall 2 | October 20 - December 12, 2025
Costs and Payment
Tuition is $350 with materials included. All programs require an online placement test for new students. The placement test costs $50.00.
We accept all major credit cards, checks, and cash. You can also mail a check to the below address (make checks payable to Continuing Education, University of Utah) or pay by credit card over the phone.
To receive a refund, you must drop by the end of week one.
